30 weeks!

30 Weeks pregnant!
and i never thought i would say this but hopefully i can last as long as possible.
i know. not such good news with this post. :/
Today i went to my 30 week appointment.
It was scheduled for Thursday but there were some "preterm labor" symptoms that were happening the really needed to be taken care of.
okay. i never thought this would get my emotions the way it is and its probably 10 times worse because of my hormones! but i seriously was and am so scared.

i mean what does every mom or mom to be want?
* a healthy baby to come home from the hospital with right?

well last night i was having a lot of problems and my contractions would NOT go away so... i called the Labor & Delivery unit at the hospital because it was a sunday and the doctors office was closed. when i called i had told them the things that were going wrong and that i may just be freaking out cause its my 1st pregnancy and they made me feel like i was really stupid. all the lady said was "ma'am just drink a liter of water and get in a warm bath" (this is the SAME stupid thing they told me last time i was having problems!)
so being frustrated i just laid down the rest of the night hoping the problem would go away.... wrong thing to do.

This morning i woke up feeling fine but about 20 minutes after waking up i called the doctor to see if they could squeeze me in today because i was still really worried from the night before and they rescheduled my appointment for 5:20 tonight. Not even 10 minutes after i got off the phone i got the chills so bad that my whole body wouldnt stop shaking and my whole body tightened up. the weird thing is i wasnt cold at all. The only thing i could think to do was get in a warm bath to hope the chills would go away. while i was in the bath my fingers were turning purple and i have never had contractions that bad ever! and i've had pretty bad braxton hicks my whole pregnancy. so Nick called the Nurses at my doctors office and explained the problem and they told us to come in right away.

When i got to the doctors office i was still in alot of pain but the shaking had gone down.
so the doctors appointment went normal. Urine sample was okay, Blood pressure was okay, and the Ultra sound was fine in fact our sweet little girl has "Chubby cheeks" according to the doctor. so Dr. Alejo tells us that everything looks fine and he cant figure out why the contractions are happening. and right before he leaves the room he says "ya know i should probably check your cervix to make sure everythings okay" and you know how that examination goes..... haha awkward.
but while hes checking my cervix he got really nervous because im totally Effaced.... and thats not supposed to happen at 30 weeks. i guess my uterus is in a weird position so he couldnt tell if i was dilated at all... (this is when my heart dropped cause i knew something was wrong and this is really serious) so he immediately sent me over to Ogden Regional hospital (where i'll be delivering) to get a steroid shot. when i got there they explained to me that this shot is supposed to help the babies lungs develop faster so that if she does come early hopefully she will be a little more developed. i have to go get another shot (i think of the same thing) tomorrow at the same time.

You guys (if anyone actually reads this) i am really REALLY scared.
i just want my baby to be healthy and normal.
please pray for her. im really worried.

I go back to the doctor in a week and he has me timing my contractions so that if they're 10 minutes apart i have to head to labor & delivery unless the doctors office is open.
they're at about every 15 minutes right now and they're pretty painful.

i just want her to stay in as long as possible!
i'll be sure to update as soon as i find out more.

on a positive note, i never realized how wonderful of a husband i have. he's been so great all day! he's taken care of me so well and im so glad that i have someone so close to me that cares so much. i seriously am so blessed. I guess this is just another trial that im going to have to stay positive about and try to keep a smile on my face.

[sorry this post is so long. just have alot on my mind that i need to get out]

  1. Sorry to hear things aren't going as smooth as they should. My little girl tried to come at 30 weeks too. After a few shots they got my contractions to stop but put me on bed rest for 2 months with pills to stop the contractions. Well at least try to. I was able to keep her in till exactly 39 weeks, though everyday it seemed harder to stop the contractions. Just take it easy and stay hydrated. Oh and the second shot is a steroid shot to help her lungs also, I had to get those as well. Hope things start looking up for you.

  2. How scary Autumn, I hope she stays in there for a couple more months, and that you won't have to be in this much pain until she gets here. Let us know how things go, I'm glad you're being taken care of!

  3. Sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. McKayla came at 35 weeks. They have me the same shot and it didn't help. She came that night cause they felt her foot. She was in ICU for about 2 weeks or so. Everything works out for a reason. Just hang in the a little bit longer. If you need anything just let me know. Love ya.
