The life lately...

life is great. Nick and i have soooo many things to be looking forward too! its so fun being married! we love it! Last night was the Beaver Hockey game! we won....it was a close game though... usually i like close games but not that one. i dont think i said a word that last minute...... too nervous. the score was 2 to 3! so far beavers have won all 3 games they have played so lets hope they keep it up!!!

this was Chris Dietch's goal... seriously and amazing hockey player.... he got 2 goals last game.

other than Hockey we've mostly been working, cleaning our house, or hanging out with family. but right now allllll of nicks family is on vacation (they'll be home sometime this week) so Nick's been hanging out with friends quite a bit. they all play NHL on the PS3 but i dont like to sit around alot. ever since marys wedding ive been into scrapbooking. i did mary's sign in book at her wedding and kinda got addicted to it. right now im working on our family scrapbook page. Every year we have a family reunion for the cox family. everyone puts a scrapbook page together to give to everyone to put in their "cox family reunion scrap book".
its been a struggle.... its on an 8 and a half by 11 or something instead of the bigger pages so its been rough to get our HUGE family on two sides haha so here it is so far.... its not finished though.

Much needed update :)

Sorry friends.... i havent had much time to blog lately.... and probably wont for a while. Nick and i got hitched on Friday May 7th....

we love being married! its even better than we thought it would be!!!

Lately nicks been looking for a job... not much luck yet but we have lots of people helping look for any job he can get! Especially my brother Nate...

Mary (Nicks sister) and Dave got married on June 5th... so most of my time before then was helping plan or making decorations and scrapbooking for their sign in book. the wedding turned out great and they happily left for Aruba on sunday morning! (i'll upload pics of the cute scrap book and them on their special day later.... they're still on the camera and of course im to busy to upload them)

SOOOOO....basically nicks whole family is gone this week! Mary, Dave, Mark and Julie are in Aruba, Bob, Ben, and Choi are in Holland, Matt & Melissa are going to bear lake and Liz and Rob went down to st. george! this never happens with the Van Komen fam!

Janie was has been home alone since monday morning so we went and talked to her last night and ended up staying there for 3 or more hours... telling funny stories or talking about how OCD she is to make sure all the doors and windows are locked. i have to say my favorite is how her parents (grandpa and grandma buchanan) got married ..... sure was a good night.




i have to say i LOVE my mother-in-law... she's such an amazing woman :)


well i better go... im making a trip to Sego Lily for a spa day.... by myself


THIS SHOULD BE WONDERFUL!!!!

Yesterday was a great day :) i have sooo much fun with my sweet Nick and also with my best friends chase and jen!


Nick and i went shopping yesterday for groceries and it was pretty fun to just have time to our selves. it seems like ben and his friends are always over (im not complaining because we really do have so much fun) but it was fun to hang out together :)

I've had an obsession for making bows lately :) here's just a few of them :)

We went to the grizzly game with Chase and Jen, Ben, Braxton and Mark and i dont think i've had that much fun in quite a while. The grizzlies have a tradition during the playoffs to throw real fish on the ice after the grizzlies first goal of the night... well unfortunately last night the goal came in the Third and final period! any time i ate anything the smell of fish over powered the food.... ugh it stunk so bad i thought i was going to puke. but when they did score the boys had a blast throwing them! Nick threw 3, (let me remind you that these fish were about a pound a piece so they werent small haha) and one of nicks came waaayyy close to the goalie on the Idaho team... Mark had quite a fun time throwing fish too. his only fish he threw happened to hit the coach of the idaho team right in the face :) probably the best thing of the night!!! it was soooo funny! They ended up losing 6 to1 hah so it was not a good game.

Not much of an update!! just keeping the house clean, and planning a wedding! im so excited i cant even explain how excited i am! at our house its been Hockey play-offs and more hockey play-offs! haha its always hockey on tv!!! but there are some pretty good sales on shop NHL .com so nick and i and of course ben got new jerseys!!! Ben and i got colorado avalanche jerseys and nick got a panthers one ( too bad they didnt make the play offs :) )

This last week nick went to play drop ins at the Ogden Ice sheet and all the goalie positions were full so he was a little sad. so i decided we could go on a Hockey Shop Shopping spree :)


he just got cheep player stuff so that when that kind of stuff happens again he can just play player instead of goalie :) he's in love with his gear and he puts it on when ever he's watching the hockey playoff's!

I LOVE to see him happy :) he is definitely the light of my life :) i cant wait to spend the rest of my life with him :)

Bad News... and More Bad News...

SO.... this is the story... (short story cause im not to great with typing)

Saturday i worked a 10 hour shift at Ken Garff. wasnt too bad. i got alot done! when work was over Nick called me and said "meet us at Lowes to pick out the wood for the ramp in our garage" so i went straight to lowes from work to get there and then follow through with our plans that Mandi and I had... well i get to Lowes and Nick was outside waiting for me. so he gets my wheelchair out, ya know the usual routine when getting out of the car, i transfer into my chair.. get situated and shut the door......



Bam.... i shut my finger in the door.... worst feeling in the world... not because it hurt... just because im getting married in a month and guess who's not gonna have a finger nail ME! and the real question is.. Who shut the door cause they should have been watching right? well i shut my own finger in the door. im so stupid sometimes. so back to my story...

I look at Nick and say "What do you think we should do?" Matt (Nicks brother who's building the ramp) and Nick both give me the look of uhhhhhhh i have no idea what to do. so i just suggested we just go into lowes and hurry and pick the wood then we'll go fix my finger. So we get right inside the doors of lowes and i was on the verge of passing out. Nick had to hold my shoulders back so that if i did pass out i wouldnt fall out of my chair.. at this point my finger didnt hurt too bad i was just light headed. So we leave lowes cause i figured we should probably go to Insta care to get it checked out cause it wasnt looking too good... so we get in my car and the pain started to hit... we called my mom and had her meet us at insta care cause she actually knows what she's doing unlike me ObViOuSlY haha so we drive to the syracuse insta care.... its closed... so we drove to the layton insta care.... its closed... by now im screaming because my finger hurt so bad... so we decided to just go to the ER at the Davis Hospital... i dont think i have ever waited so long in my life. it felt like hours then finally the doctor came in and had to go take a 2nd look at the x rays. he told me i didnt break it but clearly i had a pretty big laceration from one side of the finger to the other so either they could numb my finger and take my nail off and stitch the laceration up (if needed) or i could just leave it and let it heal itself. i chose #2 cause i probably wouldnt like getting my nail pulled off. so after like 4 hours in the ER this is what i went home with




This was my Terrible saturday. such a big deal right? i figure i'd share the story with ya'll :)

our awesome casserole

So.. Now that we have a house we cook food like every night so i'll start posting more! Last night Nick and I made broccoli cheesey chicken casserole haha we kinda made it up. thats why it doesnt really have a name.

first we started the white rice

then we cut the broccoli threw peas and the broccoli in the glass casserole fried up some chicken in a frying pan and put that in the pan along with the cooked rice. then for the sauce we put cream of chicken a little bit of sour cream, and velveta cheese in a sauce pan. then we cut cheese chunks and spread it through out the casserole. after that pour the sauce over the mixture (in the glass pan) and grate the rest of the block of cheese on the top. bake it for 20 to 30 minutes and its done.

really we just made it up ourselves and it turned out way good! i think thats the only way nick cooks so im afraid this is what most of our recipe posts will look like!
