The "Championship" game.

A few days ago Nick got asked by the Jay's, to play in the Bountiful Adult League Championship. Of course he couldnt turn it down... [Unless Viewmont or the Hawks asked him to fill in] :)
Tonight was the game!
It was a very good game!

Stretching before the game.
My sweet baby slept through half the game. Hockey baby already :) i had a lot say "How is she still sleeping with all this noise!" and if you know me at hockey games... im not quiet!
End result!
The Jays won!!!
Skating to the locker room to celebrate!
My sweet Nick played sooo good! probably one of the best games i've seen him play!
The best part of tonight is that he wore his beavers jersey out there!
If feels good to win the Championship finally.

On another subject i CAN NOT wait for October. Every weekend has something exciting that month! including my birthday!

Oma & Opa Van Komen

On September 12, 2011 our Uncle Bert joined his Wife, Mom & Dad and many others in heaven. We miss him so much already but we know he is so much happier where he is now.
Because Bob's brother died they came home from Holland for a week for the funeral. Alexei has never met her Oma and Opa until tonight! She loved them so much!
She loved Oma so much that she went right to sleep in her arms.
We miss you and love you Uncle Bert. Bob and Janie, it was soo good seeing you! it feels like its been a lot longer than 9 months!!

NHL 2011-2012

This day was an AWESOME day for Nick and I.
Before work Nick and I went to Game Stop and picked this baby up!

We had to wait to play it until Nick got home from work....
so at 10:00 we put Alexei to bed and played for the first time!

We had so much fun! Nick had work at 8 the next morning so we only got to play 2 games and a couple shoot outs.

You better believe i won the first game.
[Nick still likes to think he "took it easy on me" but we all know the truth :)]

9-12-11

September 12th was Madison's 13th birthday!

To celebrate, Nick and I took Madi to Texas Roadhouse for dinner!

She loved it!

It was so much fun... Texas Roadhouse never disappoints!

Saturday September 9th.

Madi had another soccer game! She has them every Saturday! Because Nick works every Saturday, Alexei and I go to every game!
Usually Alexei sleeps in the shade while I fry in the sun!
Madi's team won their first game on the 9th! She also scored 2/3 goals!
Way to go Madi!

Just after Madi Scored!

9-10-11

Beaver Hockey ended Friday night.
Sad, sad day. You may think im crazy but i love hockey and i love to see my husband and his friends have such a good time together.
I like that Nick has his "things" and I have my own "things."
I would never ever be the wife that says "really these 9:15 and 10:45 games again?"
i can live through one late night a week to support Nick and his friends.
[can you tell its been a rough day?]

The bright thing about beaver hockey being over is that the NHL 2011-2012 season is starting soon! and you better believe for the 3rd year in a row, we will be at the Ave's season opener. [Alexei's 1st NHL game!]

Some girls spend their money having "spa day", getting their nails or toes done, or having a girls night. But lets get real how fun is it really? Usually your thinking "When is this night going to be over so i can get home and get in my Pj's and watch a good movie". Dont get me wrong, I've done the whole girly girl life before. I loved cheer and dance and makeup and curling my hair and getting pedicures but honestly who likes to spend hours and hours and hundreds of dollars on the way they look.
What it all comes down to is that people are soooo worried about what friends or family or that "ex girlfriend" thinks about you.

and right now im taking this opportunity to say I DONT CARE!
you can think im stupid for having more fun with my husbands friends than girlfriends. You can tell me im dumb for liking to play NHL on the playstation with my husband and his friends. You can tell me im crazy for spending hundreds of dollars on NHL games to sit 2nd row.
You can also tell me im crazy for wanting my daughter to play hockey instead of dancing and fashion and worrying sooo much about what other people think and becoming someone she isnt.

After high school, Cheer and Dance do nothing for your life unless all you did was eat, sleep, dance. Look at the USA womens hockey team... would you call them stupid for being a girl and playing hockey? i dont think so. you're probably jealous thats not you up there doing what you love to go for something as cool as a gold medal.

Now dont get me wrong. If Alexei grows up and wants to dance, BE MY GUEST! i will pay countless amounts of money to make my baby happy with her life and herself.

I love my baby.
I love my life.
Trust me, I [obviously] have problems myself and i DON'T need you to add to them.

Thanks for letting me vent blog world!
i hope everyone has a good night and day tomorrow!
i know i'll have a better day.

Up date.

I know it has been WAY too long since ive updated my blog. It seems like i wouldn't have much to do during the day since i stay home with Alexei while Nick works, but seriously life is so busy! Time is flying by! My baby girl is about 3 and 1/2 months now and shes a chunky little sweetie. I LOVE IT!

While Nick is at work [he works like 50 hours a week] Alexei and I have alot of fun!
We do things like....
August 24, 2011 We went Boating with "Grammy and Papa"
Alexei loved it! The water is finally warm enough that Alexei loves to swim in it!
She had so much fun kicking her legs and hanging out with "Papa"

I do alot of crafting while Nick works. I made this quilt for my Brother-in-law Benny. He's on a mission in Seattle Washington and his birthday was August 22. I made it out of all of Nick and Ben's old band tee shirts. He wrote home right away to tell us he LOVED his quilt. or in his words "that is the freakin sweetest birthday gift i've ever recieved!"
We miss Benny so much but hes doing so great in Seattle!
I'm actually working on another tee shirt quilt for my Brother. He went on a mission to the phillippines and he's having me make a mission quilt!
I'm loving it!

August 19, 2011
Alexei and i went School Shopping with My mom and sisters!
We had so much fun and Lex fell asleep half way through haha.

Alexei and I go to my sister Madi's soccer games every saturday. She plays AYSO and she's doing pretty good!
Grammy takes all the time she can holding lex. She's growing so fast!

I'm Sooooooooo excited for this next part!!!!

Nick & I got a new calling!!!

We will be teaching the CTR 7 class!
I am so excited! This is a new step in our lives and we're so excited to share our testimony with these sweet little kids!!

[Janie my MIL is good friends with Jean Keaton and She drew this picture for Janie when Sarah died.]

Well that is about all we're up to. Nick is loving his job and he's making enough money that i can stay home with Alexei! We are loving life and so glad to be out of the "Slump" that we were in!

Hope everyone is doing well!
